About Us

Welcome to the Montesano Fire Department! Since our founding in 1892 as an all-volunteer organization, we have evolved to meet the growing needs of our community. With the addition of our first full-time employee in the 1950s we’ve continued to expand our capabilities, including becoming one of the first departments in Washington to introduce paramedics in the early 1970s. Today, our team includes a full-time Fire Chief and six skilled line staff, ensuring we provide exceptional service across our just over 10 square miles of the city and beyond through mutual aid agreements with neighboring fire districts.
